“Witty banter”

On a day that was referred to by the trusted bodies of Radio 2 as “the hottest of the year”, I sit by my PC in my dressing gown watching the rain fall from a gloomily overcast sky. Not that I’m complaining, I’ve had plenty to keep me occupied as I try to avoid doing any real work.

From screaming my lungs out whilst rocking out on the ol’ six-string to undeniably orgasm-inducing punk rockers Against Me! to completing my nephew’s christening invitations, I’ve been a very productive little beast.

Originally I wanted to put “followed by light refreshments and witty banter”, but that was overruled by my sister who argued that people wouldn’t understand. My opinion of such an argument (which is almost definitely the reason why I will NEVER get a job as a professional designer) is that I don’t really care what the people looking at the invite think - it’ll amuse me slightly, and that is the reason the world revolves, no?

In a similar vein, please regard the below image which I created as the cover of a marketing report for a multi-national company running thousands of popular, value clothing superstores. I don’t suppose that this was used for the final draft of the report but, in my defence, I was asked to do this while at home and my philosophy has always been that I don’t mind working from home, so long as I enjoy it - and I went fucking nuts with this one.

I am tempted to write a song today, though it’s been a while and it’s difficult to get back into the swing of things. Before then, I really need to do some work otherwise I’ll be very grumpy on Monday and that’s not good at all.
