When ‘Splurple’ is unsuitable as an introduction
I spent a few seconds then trying to find the right word to start off today’s post. I was tempted to settle for old the favourite, “Gnnh”, but that really didn’t seem to suffice. For a nanosecond I was tempted by “splurple”, which was more accurate but perhaps a bit too pretentious. Ultimately, I got distracted by reading through my blog roll and forgot what point I was trying to make.
Momentarily, I am sitting down to relax after having decided to take a break from working (and this is real work too, not the fun stuff). I can’t really complain, having got a spiffing new laptop that seriously floats my boat. That’s not to say I’ve fallen out of love with my trusty old Amilo Pro (which I instantly fell in love with due to the matte black face, white keys and blinking blue lights) even though the piss-poor resolution makes any kind of design work a pain in the arse. The shitty little thing is sat on my lap (as is its wont) as we speak, looking slightly battered, worn and well-used - which just makes me love it more.
More blabbing after the image.
Enough of the technophilia. I realised the other day that, despite my current situation, design and illustration has always been how I best get my be-clothed kicks and so I should really start using this blog to quickly update the site with all the fresh, new crap I produce - regardless of how rubbishy it may be. So, here you go kids - a random piccy scraped together by me using Photoshop, some free-for-personal-use paintbrushes (I will reference the original creators in a dedicated article sometime, only the source has escaped me at the moment and it’s getting too late to do such a search) and some subtle filters. I’m not claiming this is art, but it’s mine and I like looking at it.
